THREE DAYS OF DARKNESS
"And I will shew wonders in heaven; and in earth, blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood: before the great and dreadful day of the Lord doth come. (Joel 2:30-31)
"And immediately after the tribulation of those days, the sun shall be darkened and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of heaven shall be moved" (Matthew 24-28)
The Impending Signs
Increasing violent disturbances on land at sea and in the air: earthquakes, hurricanes, tornadoes, windstorms, cloudbursts, breaking of dams, overflowing of streams and seas, huge tidal waves, floods, unusual 'accidents' taking many lives, famines, epidemics, destruction, destitution, failure of crops, water and crops will change, becoming more 'polluted' and less nourishing.
Revolutions, downfall of government, dissensions, wars, confusion in high places, lack of respect for authority, treachery, corruption, brutalities, atrocities. Breakdown of family life, immortality, adultery, infidelity, promiscuity, perversion and violence of youth, disobedience, lack of values, indecent nakedness of dress, countless sins and iniquities, people concerned only with eating, drinking, dancing, and pleasures.
Flaunting of Church laws, irreverence and immodesty in church, lack of attendance at church, neglect of holy conduct on Sundays, neglect of the sacraments, sinful pride in sham-religious activities, many 'religious' will fall away and take souls with them; enemies, persecution, suppression of the Church will increase and there will be many martyrs.
Lack of charity, heartlessness, indifference and lack of concern for our neighbor, people turning against each other, even in the bosom of their family, people proud in own knowledge and turning away from God.
The Immediate Signs
The night will be bitterly cold, the wind will bowl and roar, then will come lightening, thunderbolts, earthquakes, the stars and heavenly bodies will be disturbed and restless. There will be NO light, but TOTAL BLACKNESS, utter dark will envelop the entire earth. This will come suddenly like a flash!
Hurricanes of fires will rain forth from Heaven and spread over all the earth, fear will seize mortals at the sight of these clouds of fire, and great will be their cries of lamentation, many godless will burn in the open fields like withered grass. God's wrath will be poured out upon the whole world, the 'chastisement' will be terrible, such as never before, and will afflict the entire earth.

1) Blessed Anna-Maria Taigi (19th century, Italy)
"God will send two punishments: one will be in the form of wars, revolutions and other evils; it shall originate on earth. The other will be sent from Heaven. There shall come over the whole earth an intense darkness lasting three days and three nights. Nothing can be seen, and the air will be laden with pestilence which will claim mainly, but not only, the enemies of religion. It will be impossible to use any man-made lighting during this darkness, except blessed candles. He, who out of curiosity, opens his window to look out, or leaves his home, will fall dead on the spot. During these three days, people should remain in their homes, pray the Rosary and beg God for mercy."
"All the enemies of the Church, whether known or unknown, will perish over the whole earth during that universal darkness, with the exception of a few whom God will soon convert. The air shall be infected by demons who will appear under all sorts of hideous forms."
2) Marie-Julie Jahenny of La Fraudais (19th century, France)
Marie-Julie announced the three days of darkness during which the infernal powers will be loosed and will execute all the enemies of God. "The crisis will explode suddenly; the punishments will be shared by all and will succeed one another without interruption... "( January 4, 1884).
- "The three days of darkness will be on a THURSDAY, FRIDAY AND SATURDAY. Days of the Most Holy Sacrament, of the Cross and Our Lady. . . . three days less one night."
- "The earth will be covered in darkness, says Our Lady on 20th of September 1882, AND HELL WILL BE LOOSED ON EARTH. Thunder and lightning will cause those who have no faith or trust in My Power, to die of fear."
- "During these three days of terrifying darkness, no windows must be opened, because no one will be able to see the earth and the terrible colour it will have in those days of punishment without dying at once..."

3) St. Pius X (20th century, Italy)
"I saw one of my successors taking to flight over the bodies of his brethren. He will take refuge in disguise somewhere and after a short retirement he will die a cruel death. Clouds with lightning rays of fire and a tempest of fire will pass over the whole world and the punishment will be the most terrible ever known in the history of mankind. It will last 70 hours. The wicked will be crushed and eliminated. Many will be lost because they have stubbornly remained in their sins. Then they will feel the force of light over darkness. The hours of darkness are near
deathtoll caused by the Three Days.

The prophetess Sister Mary of St. Peter is mentioned in the revelations of Marie-Julie Jahenny of La Fraudais, in a most important of matters. It was revealed to her by Heaven the exact date of A Warning which will come immediately before the 3 Days of Darkness Chastisement.

Jesus: “. . . I forewarn you that a day will be found and it is already appointed when there will be little sun, few stars, and no light to take a step outside of your homes, the refuges of My people.
The days will be beginning to increase (days get longer on Dec 22). It will not be at the height of summer nor during the longer days of the year (summer time), but when the days are still short (winter time). It will not be at the end of the year, but during the first months (of the year) that I shall give My clear warnings. That day of darkness and lightning will be the first that I shall send to convert the impious, and to see if a great number will return to Me, before the Great Storm (Chastisement) which will closely follow. (The darkness and lightning of) that day will not cover all of France, but a part of Brittany will be tried by it. (However) on the side on which is found the land of the mother of My Immaculate Mother (the land of St. Anne) will not be covered by darkness to come, up to your place (home of Marie-Julie) . . . All the rest will be in the most terrible fright. From one night to the next — one complete day —, the thunder will not cease to rumble. The fire from the lightnings will do a lot of damage, even in the closed homes where someone will be living in sin. My children, that first day (of chastisement) will not take away anything from the three others (the 3-Day Chastisement) already pointed out and described.
That particular day was revealed to My servant, Catherine (Laboure), in the apparitions of My Blessed Mother under the name (title), 'Mary Conceived Without Sin'. That day is (also) recorded in five well-sealed rolls of Sister St. Peter of Tours.
